I Am Me-Willow
I kinda like this stripped down ballad. It’s too melodic to get any kind of actual radio airplay (with Adele being the only artist they play with consistency outside of the usual contemporary sound) but it’s a great effort. It appeared randomly somewhere with a hoard of homophobic and body-snarking comments beneath it and no commentary on the actual song. The fact that people are trying to forcibly out an 11 year old is a type of ick no soap can wash off. I love that this is a strong-willed response to the amount of vitrol she’s gotten this year. They act as if she’s the first off-beat legacy child star out there. Drew Barrymore went to rehab at 13 and had the bumpiest of adulthoods but is now a multi-hyphenate actor-producer-director.
